With the technical organization chart in place, Pistoia Basket is already working to build the new roster for next season. As stated by technical director Alberto Martelossi and coach Tommaso Della Rosa, the first moves will involve the reconfirmation of some players from last season and key players of the team for several years. After the now official farewell of captain Gianluca Della Rosa, destined to wear the jersey of Fortitudo Bologna, the club is moving to try to keep Lorenzo Saccaggi, Gabriele Benetti and Federico Stoch in Pistoia. The negotiation with Saccaggi, in particular, seems to be on the home straight: only the last formal details are missing, so Sacca will continue to wear the red and white for next year as well. There are also good chances of continuing to see them with the Pistoia jersey for Benetti and Stoch. The club is negotiating their renewal and everything suggests that for them too the negotiation could reach a positive conclusion. Starting from these three players would undoubtedly be an excellent base on which to build the rest of the team.

Saccaggi would take over the captain's armband left by Della Rosa and it goes without saying that he would be the best person to entrust with the task of leading the team on the field and in the locker room. Saccaggi has always declared his unconditional love for Pistoia, which he considers his home, and has always shown on and off the field that he has all the typical characteristics of a leader. Without Gianluca, moreover, the starting playmaker spot would undoubtedly be all his.

The market, however, does not stop at just confirmations because Pistoia has set its sights on Antonio Gallo, a playmaker born in 2000 who played in A2 with Torino last year after the exploit of the previous season in Sant'Antimo. He would be the ideal back-up for Saccaggi, according to the red and white technical area. The negotiation is underway. Also keep an eye on another Gallo, Filippo, a talented winger born in 2004 owned by Reggio: a possibility that could take shape thanks to the axis with the new Emilian sports director Sambugaro.
