BORGOMANERO - A mocking defeat for Costone in Borgomanero: Vismederi beaten 80-79 at the end of a match that literally slipped from the hands of coach Michele Belletti's team in the final moments of the game. A negative result that further mortifies the efforts of a Costone author of a super performance in terms of application and intensity for at least 35', even reaching +8 (79-71) about 3' from the final siren. Here, however, came the slow and inexorable comeback of Borgomenero who, dragged by the usual Benzoni, placed a 9-0 that decisively overturned the game. Even more mocking for Vismederi is the fact that the yellow-greens had the chance to take a last shot with about 16" on the clock: in those moments, however, neither Banchi nor Matteo Paoli managed to construct a shot, being robbed of the ball by the home defense. A real shame for Vismederi who, still without Nasello, held their own against Borgomanero's physicality with a great performance made of attention and defensive application (also with a lot of zone). The film of the match saw the two teams face each other with great intensity without either of them ever managing to create separation in the score. When a break arrived that gave a 4 or 5 point advantage, the opponents always promptly responded and put the contest back into question. Vismederi's first advantage came during the second quarter at 29-28, with a triple by Matteo Paoli. However, it was always the home team, now with Piccirilli now with Bazan who put their noses back in front. In the second time and especially in the last period, the yellow-greens found considerable extensions twice, thanks to a monumental Bastone (20 total points) and solid Zeneli and Sebastianelli. First the +7 on (76-69), then the +8 on (79-71) made Costone dream of an away win. But in the end, Borgomenero broke the rhythm of Vismederi and brought the inertia back to their side. In a decisive manner, given how the match ended that condemned Costone to the sixth defeat in seven play-in gold commitments. Another substantially undeserved defeat for Bruttini and his teammates. However, without moving up the standings, the path towards a playoff position becomes increasingly uphill for Vismederi.
