LUCCA - Green Le Mura surrenders in the final to Nico Basket, who, in the semifinal, had beaten Number 8 Massa; while coach Ferretti's red and whites had prevailed, on Saturday, against Prato, by 58 to 48. So only silver and no cup.

Le Mura presents itself at the final four of "Tuscany Cup - Lorenzo Lunghi Trophy", reshuffled, with the absences of Maffei, Dianda and Cerri, to which, in the last few hours, Geremei, Rapè and Tessaro have also been added. Coach Ferretti, however, fields a good roster in both games.

The first quarter of the final sees Nico Basket start better and closes with a 17-12 lead. The red and whites try to chase, despite the important individuality of their opponents who, even in the second half, manage to score important points, going to halftime at 35-24.

Upon returning, after the long break, Green Le Mura Spring tries to stay in the wake of Nico who, however, continues to extend and closes the period at 48-34. In the last quarter Rastelli's roster manages to manage the reassuring advantage well and takes home the trophy. Coach Ferretti's girls deserve applause, however, because, until the end, despite the numerous absences, they tried; but Nico proved to be a difficult opponent to beat.

"It was a game - commented coach Ferretti at the end of the match - that didn't go the way it should have. But the girls deserve applause for what they showed, despite the difficulties. It's an excellent second place".
