Mens Sana: last challenge in Genoa after direct salvation

La direct salvation was finally achieved a week ago against Collegno making the last match of the second phase useless, on Sunday on the parquet of GenoVa for an unprecedented challenge for the Mens Healthy. In the green and white house, however, in addition to the satisfaction for remaining in the category, objectively never too much in question, but still to be certified, there is a desire to play one last important match in the Ligurian capital. "Even if we have already achieved the goal of salvation, we must maintain high concentration by going to Genoa, against a strong team that in the home fortress has built a large part of its season, trying to win".

So yesterday before the evening training the black and green winger Daniele Marrucci (pictured) who underlines the desire not to go to Genoa to make a bad impression but rather to try to finish on a high note. "This is why we are facing the last week of preparation with attention and desire. We will need a great performance to win on a pitch where many strong teams, like Spezia, have lost, or others like Cecina have won but with great difficulty. We want to play a good match out of respect for our fans and the shirt we wear". It is impossible at this point in the season not to take stock of the championship, the first in Serie B after years in lower categories. "The season has been conditioned by small episodes - admits Marrucci thinking back to some moments of the initial round -. In my opinion it remains very positive especially in the first part of the first round when we were in the lead for a long time. We certainly had many ups and downs but in my opinion we recovered well and achieved our objective early". A few too many errors, like in Arezzo or in the return derby against Costone, meant having to earn salvation until the end. "It's a shame we didn't get into the group that offered the playoffs based on basket difference - continues the number 10 of Note di Sienaa - but we were ready in the second phase. Returning to Genoa, I remember that in the first leg they played a great game and put us in difficulty. They are one of the few teams not made up of young people but they have a lot of experience. It will be a difficult game for which we will need defense and above all the head". In the last match against Collegno Marrucci showed off one of the house's technical specialties. "There was a lot of anger in the dunk because it was a game in which nothing was going in for me. It was nice to see the fans rejoice also because it was the last game of the season at home" concluded the guard.
