Basketball 2.015: Confirmations and continuity for the 2025/26 season with Martino

While the playoffs are now coming to an end (tomorrow game 3 will be played between Cantù and Rimini, the first 'match point' for the Brianza team), at home Basketball 2.015 it's already time to lay the foundations for next season. These are delicate days, with the club on Viale Corridoni grappling with the definition of the budget and a possible 'renewal' of the corporate offices. First of all, that of the president Giancarlo Nicosanti. On the field, however, there is a hard core to be preserved that would guarantee a good dose of technical continuity with the championship that has just ended.

Starting with the technical staff. Antimo Martino will sit on the bench of Forlì also in 2025/26. The current contract, renewed in April of last year, already guarantees the continuation of the relationship (he signed a new two-year agreement) and all possible market opportunities have been eliminated. Thus, the coach from Isernia will be the red and white coach for the fourth year in a row, effectively entering the history of city basketball. So far, no coach has led the team for more than three consecutive years. The rest of the technical staff will also remain with him, with Andrea Fabrizi and Paolo Ruggeri confirmed as assistants.

There will also be confirmations on the parquet. Because Unieuro will start again in September, potentially, with at least five fixed points from last year's roster. An important number: it is, essentially, half of the team. And they are also significant permanences, since three of these - Riccardo Tavernelli, Demonte Harper and Raphael Gaspardo -, until a handful of weeks ago, were members of the starting five. Then Matteo Parravicini and Angelo Del Chiaro are added. Elements on which the club, twelve months ago, focused a lot and who, with strong motivations for different reasons, will be able to play an important role next year.

Market dynamics, of course, can always bring surprises and the situation could also change rapidly. But Forlì, to date, starts again with five contracts in place. Such a high number had never been recorded in the recent past. In the summer of 2023, at the end of Martino's first year and with a promotion final behind him, only four remained in red and white: Cinciarini, Pollone, Radonjic and Valentini. The same number of confirmations 'inked' a year ago, with the addition of Magro and Pascolo to the first two 'columns' of the roster.

Rewinding the tape even further back, not even in the three-year period with Sandro Dell'Agnello on the bench was there such a lack of continuity between one season and another. Because in that case the 'record' was only four confirmations. Before the clean slate in the summer of 2022 when, with the arrival of Martino, there was only one permanence (Benvenuti) from the previous year. Now the Basketball 2.015 tries to relaunch itself starting from its certainties, without dismantling the roster. With the hope of benefiting from it.
