Vigarano loses game 2 of the play outs: Moncalieri saves, the second round opens

Nothing to do for Vigarano, who also loses game 2 of the first round of the play out, a KO (46-64 the final score) that has given Moncalieri salvation. For Vigarano now the second round will open, against one between Torino and Ancona.

Really bad start for the Vigarano Basketball, who in the first 7' never manages to find the way to the basket. On the other side of the court, Moncalieri takes advantage of this with the former Sammartino and Ngamene to take the lead 0-15. The home team gets going and closes the first period down 7-17. Moncalieri makes very few mistakes, has a lot from Sammartino and Ngamene (14-30). Vigarano makes too many mistakes (5/32 shooting from the field after 20', which means not even 16%) and gives the Piedmontese a myriad of rebounds (33 to 16 the count after 20'). Closing the first half down 17-32, at the start of the second quarter Moncalieri, with the MVP Sammartino (21 points and 18 rebounds in 33'), extends to +17 (17-34), before turning off the offensive light.

The Piedmontese will only score 3 points in 6', while for Vigarano a game that seemed already over is reopened: from 17-34 in the 21st minute, it goes to 30-37 in the 25th minute, signed by Vargas (the best in the red and white house), Reani and Valensin. Vigarano has no shortage of heart, as well as the great desire to reopen a game that was already over. The third period ended 36-45, Moncalieri extends again to +13, with Salvini in the lead (38-51), then Vigarano does not give up and recovers to -8 thanks to the triple of 43-51 by Tintori (36'). At this point, however, it is still Sammartino who takes the stage: the wing hurts, very badly, his former team, who is dominated on the rebound (56 to 28) and shoots clearly worse than the Piedmontese who win with merit. Now Vigarano will have to play for salvation in two more play-off rounds.
