Vis 2008 Under 17 Excellence qualifies for the national basketball finals

Another great achievement by Vis 2008 and in particular by its Under 17 Eccellenza team. Thanks to the double victory against Milan and Vado Ligure, coach Santi's boys are mathematically qualified for the national finals of the category, which will be held in Chiusi and Chianciano Terme from 16 to 22 June. A ride that began a long time ago, which saw the young 'vissini' dominate the regular season without even losing a match, and win the title of regional champions at the Palapalestre against Reggio Emilia; then the interregional phase, with top-level opponents, above all Olimpia Milano. But the white and blues pressed their foot on the accelerator and yesterday's easy success on the Vado Ligure field was worth mathematical qualification for the finals. The two most important points, however, came a few days ago in the top-seeded challenge against Milan, played in front of a packed Palapalestre: a balanced game, which Vis led almost the entire time, before taking a risk in the final minutes under the blows of the talented young Milanese players. At 69-71, Vis remained focused and thanks first to Ficetti (who found the tying basket), then to Segato (who found a fundamental block in defense) and finally to Costaglione (who earned a foul and scored two free throws), they managed to take the lead at 73-71 with eleven seconds to play. Milan's last shot at the buzzer didn't hit the target and the white and blues were able to celebrate the two points.
