Alessandro Formisano was welcomed to Piancastagnaio as the new coach of Pianese, promising enthusiasm and continuity.
Welcome mister. From today we are at your side: to welcome, to Piancastagnaio, to Alessandro Formisano (pictured), the banner displayed at the Comunale by the fans. "I'm happy to be here - said the new coach -, I thank the director Cangi and the club for this opportunity. I left Perugia just a month ago, after 14 years between the youth sector and the first team, but the fire inside has never gone out and I begin this adventure with great enthusiasm".
"My idea of the game is not that different from that of my predecessor - he continued - who did a great job. I know the dynamics that are created in a dressing room when the coach changes and I know that this team has a very specific imprint: I will not upset anything, we will continue in the name of continuity. Of this Pianese I was impressed by the team, the ability to interpret the races and certain phases of the race, in a championship that does not allow for drops in tension: I will try to mix my ideas with those that are there".
Fabio Prosperi left the team in ninth place with 24 points: an extra challenge, to improve what is already good. "I have already experienced a similar situation, but in reverse: I believe that everyone should try to be better than the day before and in any case a little more pressure, I will gladly take it". The coach held the first training session yesterday afternoon. "The first thing I told the boys was to go fast and I think that is what they would have wanted to tell me. I want to get to know the men before the players, knowing that they are boys who apply themselves a lot both in training and in matches".
La Pianese is expected to be a great tour de force. "The opponents must be crossed all, one at a time - said Formisano -, starting from Arezzo who is a strong opponent. We will have to face each challenge with great courage, aware that we have everything to compete with the others". Formisano will be supported by the assistant Valerio Pignataro, the athletic trainer Lorenzo Scalzeggi and the technical assistant Giacomo Lenzi. The staff will continue to include the goalkeeping coach Giacomo Palmi and the assistant athletic trainer Domenico Capitani.
To explain how the choice fell on Formisano, once the separation from Prosperi had matured, it was the director Cangi. "With Alessandro we crossed paths at the first championship match, although, as an Umbrian, I often went to see the Perugia Primavera, trained by the mister.
