Arezzo, 23 April 2025 – The Lucchese returns defeated from the derby against Arezzo and now everything will be decided in Sunday's match against Torres, given that the Rossoneri should play the playouts this evening. On the penultimate day of the championship, Lucchese plays in Arezzo, after the postponement on Sunday due to the death of Pope Francis. Gucher is suspended for Lucchese, while Rizzo and Ballarini are absent with physical problems. Saporiti is back on the field, while Tumbarello starts from the bench. Lucchese started well and in the 9th minute Saporiti tried directly from a free kick, but the ball hit the wall and arrived at Trombini despite Gasbarro's interference. Magnaghi continues to attack in the 13th minute, trying a right-footed shot from outside the area, but his shot is blocked by Gilli. Arezzo responds with a nice play by Tavernelli, which Visconti deflects into a corner. The home team went forward again in the 16th minute with Pattarello who blocked his left-footed shot which was easy prey for Melgrati. A beautiful conclusion from the former Ravasio who in the 19th minute turned on the edge of the penalty area, but a Rossoneri defender providentially deflected it into a corner. In the 22nd minute Tavernelli ends up on the ground in the penalty area, in a clash with Melgrati who was coming out, but the referee rightly lets the game continue. A thrill in the 23rd minute with Shaka Mawuli, who tries to put the ball in the red and black goal with his right foot, but just misses the target. Lucchese responds with a nice shot from outside by Galli in the 26th minute that ends just wide. The Rossoneri took the lead in the 28th minute. Saporiti serves Antoni, who puts the ball in the center of the penalty area, where Magnaghi scores his twelfth goal of the season with his right foot and his back to the goal. Arezzo responded shortly after with Tavernelli, but Gasbarro managed to keep his goal intact. But in the 40th minute the ex-player scores. Pattarello manages to put the ball back into the centre of the small area, where Shaka Mawuli arrives and beats him one-on-one with Melgrati, Gasbarro and Benedetti, who are unable to close it down. Lucchese closes forward and in full recovery it is once again Magnaghi, after a nice triangulation, who tries to double the score, but the ball ends up out. Arezzo started the second half aggressively with a header from Ravasio that ended just over the crossbar in the 5th minute. The home team took the lead again in the 17th minute with Tavernelli, but this time Gasbarro providentially closed it down in the corner. Bucchi's men managed to take the lead in the 20th minute with Pattarello, who unleashed a low shot from the edge of the Rossoneri penalty area, which ended up behind Melgrati. Gorgone tries to send fresh forces into the field with Tumvbarello and Badje. But there was room for Arezzo's third goal with Tavernelli, who served Pattarello, who once again beat Melgrati for the second time in five minutes on the edge of the penalty area. There was also room for the fourth goal, a beautiful one by Pattarello, who placed the ball in the top corner of the Rossoneri goal. Now for Lucchese avoiding the playouts is a truly difficult task.
