Arezzo beats Lucchese with a poker and prepares for the playoffs with Pattarello and Tavernelli in great shape.

It was almost a round ago when Arezzo scored more than two goals in a single match for the first time, at the Comunale, in the fog, against Pianese, the next opponent in the last round of the championship the day after tomorrow. Eighteen games later, here is another poker, this time at Lucchese and in broad daylight. With a different coach on the bench but the same main protagonist: also in this case the heavy signature is that of Pattarello, even if he shares the limelight at least with his teammate Tavernelli, equally inspired and decisive. The substantial difference compared to that victory in mid-December lies in the fact that this one came about not only thanks to the outstanding performance of a single player, but also thanks to a great team effort that ended up exalting the individuals. Furthermore, Arezzo of Bucchi has shown that it has changed gear for several weeks now and on Wednesday, in the recovery against Lucchese, it did nothing but reiterate it firmly. The coach has identified a standard formation and the team is now running at full speed. In the last five games, the Cavallino has obtained four victories and only one defeat in Chiavari, scoring nine goals and conceding just three.

The Amaranths seem to have come off the swing at the most important moment, with the playoff lottery at the gates that will not allow any missteps. In this perspective, there is also another more than encouraging sign: for the first time under Bucchi's management, but in general for only the second time in the entire championship, Arezzo has managed to overturn a disadvantageous situation to obtain the full result. The only other time it had happened was last October, when the goals of Renzi and Gaddini brought Spal back from behind.

In short, we can be optimistic also by virtue of the fact that, at worst in the last round, the Amaranto are certain of fifth place which will allow them to play, on Sunday 4 May, the first round at home against the eleventh in the standings, one between Pontedera and Gubbio, with two results out of three available. In the event of qualification, moreover, the second round, scheduled for Wednesday 7 May, would also be played at the Comunale. In short, Arezzo has secured itself an advantageous position, and with a Pattarello and a Tavernelli like this, it can also allow itself some small and unpronounceable dreams of glory.
