Fiorentina triumphs at the Nicco Paro Tournament: 2-0 victory over Red Star

In the fourth edition of the 'Nicco Paro Tournament' the winner was Fiorentina, victorious 2-0 in the final against Crvena Zvezda. At the 'I Ponti' sports field in Bagno a Ripoli but something else mattered too and Easter Monday was truly a day of celebration. The climate helped, with many people who came to remember with a smile Nicholas Paris, a young athlete from Sales who died prematurely in 2017. The tournament was held under the patronage of Bagno a Ripoli, from the City of Florence and Nicco Paro Foundation. The protagonists on the field were the under 14 teams of Sales, Fiorentina, Genoa, Stella Rossa, Empoli, Leeds, Torino and Bologna who challenged each other from Saturday to Monday. The first phase led the tournament to yesterday's finals. Sales and Genoa faced off for seventh place, with the Grifone winning 7-0. Empoli came in fifth (2-0 against Leeds). The most prestigious finals took place in the afternoon. Torino won the third place final 4-3 against Bologna. And as mentioned, the final went to Fiorentina, who beat Stella Rossa 2-0. As always, sport and solidarity went hand in hand. The proceeds from the tournament will go to Marta Cappelli Foundation for the construction of pediatric hospices al Meyer, and the AMO project for the motor recovery of young oncology patients, in collaboration with the Oncohematology department of the Meyer pediatric hospital.
