LIVORNO – A great Poggibonsi imposes a second consecutive defeat on Livorno. Paolo Indiani's Amaranto, after the heavy defeat with Ghiviborgo, surrender to Leonardo Bellini's goal at the beginning of the second half. But Ciccio Baiano's team offered a masterly performance. The Amaranto try to start strong and after just a few seconds they become dangerous with Russo, whose close-range left-footer is ready for Pacini. Then Livorno are still dangerous in the 9th minute with Dionisi with a high right-footer and in the 14th minute with Rossetti, whose attempt is saved almost on the line by the Giallorossi. Livorno, during the first half, continues to make the game, but the pressure, despite the ten corners earned, does not translate into further danger towards the Giallorossi goal. Then at the beginning of the second half Poggibonsi starts accelerating and after just a few seconds, they become dangerous with Belli, whose conclusion is saved by Cardelli who does well to push it out for a corner. The goal, however, comes just a minute later with Livorno practically annihilated. Cecconi does well to serve Bellini perfectly in depth who, one-on-one with Cardelli, doesn't miss. Indiani's team responds immediately and in the 51st minute they almost equalize, with Cecconi who almost scores an own goal in disengagement by sending the ball onto the post. The 1-1 would have arrived in the 54th minute with a touch from Marinari, but the referee disallows it for a foul in attack. As the minutes pass, however, the Amaranto's drive fades and Indiani's men are forced to take the second consecutive defeat, but this Poggibonsi has shown that it is truly a team of caliber.
Coach Francesco Baiano rightly said he was "happy with the result and the performance. I am very happy because the team offered a great performance, bringing home an important victory on a very difficult pitch. We also wanted this victory to confirm the signs of our growth and on the pitch, however, we saw the right spirit and the desire of those who are not satisfied".
