Goodbye playoffs, this time for real. At Galli, against Sasso Marconi, Imolese does not go beyond a draw and thus sees the post-season probably definitively move away: twelve points in fact separate the rossoblù from fifth place, where there is Lentigione (victorious yesterday in Prato) at 51 points.
A significant gap that can be reabsorbed in just six days, calling it a feat would be an understatement to say the least.
A draw that was fair all in all and certainly more convenient for Mister Pedrelli's yellow and blues, despite the fact that safety is still to be achieved, solid, attentive and not at all fearful, against an Imolese that took a long time to get going, too long, waking up only halfway through the match, but finding itself blunt and with few ideas, a distant relative compared to the one seen in the first part of the championship.
Imolese was the first to be dangerous, with Raffini who, after just five minutes, almost hit the post by heading in a nice cross from Barnabà. In the 19th minute, the first yellow-blue initiative: Jassey went off on the wing and crossed, Balleello got to the ball and, from a few meters away, hit the crossbar.
At that point the game heats up: in the 21st minute Celeste blocks Mattiolo, while shortly after Vlahovic comes inches away from scoring. Then, in the 34th minute, a contact in the area between Barnabà and Marcaletti is worth the penalty.
Geroni steps up to take the penalty, but Salgado guesses the trajectory and saves, keeping the score intact.
In the second half, the hosts grow.
In the 50th minute, Celeste returns to the forefront, saving from Raffini, then Dall'Osso also tries, but with little luck.
After another couple of dangerous attempts by Manes, in the final minutes, Imolese finished with ten men due to the expulsion of Barnabà, anticipating the three whistles by Pani, which split the points.
Imolese rises to 39 points, the top is just 30 points away where there is Forlì who beat Ravenna 3-2 in the big match of the day and is flying towards promotion.
On Sunday, mister Gianni D'Amore's team will be playing away at Sammaurese.
