The training meeting. Castellanzese and the “Galassia Neroverde“ discuss motivation and growth of young athletes

C for soccer, C for growth. E for communication. That the three lines must intersect properly, starting from the role of those called to train and prepare the boys, emerged clearly from a conference entitled "The role of communication in the training of young soccer players, building trust, motivation and growth". Organized by Castellanzese (a Serie D club) and held in the conference room of the Giuseppe Provasi stadium, the event was characterized by the presence of about seventy technicians from the black-green company and the Galassia Neroverde project that involves other companies in the Altomilanese area. The psychologist and expert in pedagogy and sports communication Deborah Maradini framed the topic and provided valuable food for thought. Clear concepts emerged from her words. The first concerned the importance for a coach of young people to know how to communicate in order to create in them the motivation and self-esteem necessary to bring out the best and the most in themselves. "Coaching - explained Maradini - does not only mean transmitting technique and obtaining results, but above all accompanying the kids in a growth path where every word, gesture and silence of the adult takes on an educational value". The coaches were able to compare themselves with some practical examples transmitted with video simulations where they could verify their communication style to bring any elements of improvement. "I don't just train players - is one of the phrases uttered by a coach present at the meeting - but I train people who are learning to know themselves through sport". The idea that ran through the various moments of the conference was therefore to know how to relate in the best way with the young footballers. With a dual objective: putting them in the condition to develop awareness of their resources and transmitting to them the ability to know how to share them with the rest of the team. An achievement that constitutes the architrave element of the possibility of always obtaining further achievements of results on the green rectangle.
