Nations League. Titans with Liechtenstein and the winning playoff between Lithuania and Gibraltar

The fourth edition of the Nations League takes shape, which for the third time sees the San Marino national team in a grouping of three teams within League D. If in the previous two the outcome was dictated exclusively by fate, in this circumstance it was a scheduled event. In fact, only six teams were included in League D, given the exclusion, once again, of Russia from UEFA competitions. Coach Cevoli's titans, second to last in the European ranking of the competition, were drawn with Liechtenstein and one of Gibraltar or Lithuania. The March playoff will determine who will complete the D1 group, with the loser of the match being the top seed in the group. Should Lithuania prevail, for San Marino it would be the same draw as the second edition of the Nations League, where they collected two draws in four matches.
