Pistoiese scores hat-trick of victories in Piacenza: 0-1

Piacenza, 23 March 2025 – The Pistoiese achieved a narrow 1-0 victory at the “Garilli” against a Piacenza team that was under-paced and had too many problems: a deserved victory on the eleventh day of the return leg of group D of the Serie D championship.

Thanks to this result and the concomitant draw of the Dew, the Oranges climb to third place in the standings with 55 points, but are far from the leaders Forlì (69), capable of overtaking Ravenna (64), second in the class in the direct challenge.

Third consecutive victory for the men coached by alberto villa, who had the flaw of creating a lot and capitalising on little: the winning goal, in fact, came thanks to a bizarre own goal by zucchini.

First half with the two teams often trotting along the midfield. Every time the Pistoiese accelerates, however, it is painful for the home team. In the 5th minute Maldonado kicks from the corner, Basanisi heads it undisturbed in the small area, sending the ball just wide.

At 7' lightness of Cecchini, who leaves the ball to the opponents in the penalty area, but quickly makes up for it by stopping D'Agostino. On the counterattack, a cross from Kharmoud from the left and zucchini, in an attempt to anticipate the attacker, scores the most sensational of own goals with a precise header.

In the 25th minute, first a delicious lob from Basanisi to serve Kharmoud inside the area, who all alone is hypnotised by Franzini, then Matthew He shoots from distance and hits the crossbar.

Finally Sparacello tries, but he doesn't hit the target. The second half is definitely enjoyable. At 2' immediately a double opportunity for the oranges: first it is Kharmoud to conclude, but the goalkeeper says no, then Sparacello tries an overhead kick, sending the ball wide. At 4' Piacenza's reaction materializes with two shots of Recino: on the first, Cecchini is ready, on the second, Kharmoud sacrifices himself in defensive closing.

At 11 Recino heads the ball to the far post: the ball goes out. Not even sixty seconds later, Sparacello passes it to Basanisi's shot from outside, the ball is deflected into a corner. In the 24th minute, it is the new arrival Pinzauti who worries the Emilian goalkeeper. In the 26th minute he is able Franzini to reject Simeri's diagonal shot. At 38' Castelli's left-footed shot ends up high from a good position. At 47' Greselin strangles his left-footed shot in front of the goalkeeper. Pistoiese grows and climbs the rankings.
