Arezzo, April 23, 2025 – Fifth place secured and mission fourth place still alive. In the recovery of the challenge postponed on Monday Arezzo first it goes under, then it spreads against the Lucchese thanks to the prowess of its tenors, Pattarello and Tavernelli, who paved the way for the Cavallino in the second half after a complicated first half. With this victory, ninety minutes from the end of the championship, fifth place which guarantees the first two rounds at home is a certainty, given the draws of Vis Pesaro and Pineto and the defeat of Pianese, while Pescara in fourth place remains three points ahead. For the delicate challenge against the Rossoneri, Bucchi puts the rotation in the drawer and fields the eleven that had won and convinced against Perugia and Pescara. Pattarello returns after his disqualification and Guccione takes back the keys to the game in midfield. After the minute of silence in memory of Pope Francis, Arezzo immediately took control of the operations even if they lost a few too many balls during the construction phase, running avoidable risks. The first noteworthy action of the match came in the 19th minute, started by Dezi and concluded by Ravasio with a deflected shot that whistled just wide of the post. A few minutes later another good restart leads to a conclusion from the edge of the area by Mawuli: the midfielder even has time to aim for the goal but kicks wide. Lucchese, however, did not sit back and watch: in the 26th minute Galli almost found the corner with a left-footed shot from the edge of the area, then two minutes later the away goal arrived. Cross into the area by Antoni and a feat by Magnaghi, who beats Gilli by hitting it with the outside of his right foot and scoring after kissing the post to the left of Trombini. Arezzo feels the blow but tries to recover the result before the break and succeeds in the 39th minute: Dezi crosses to the far post, Pattarello manages to keep it in the field with a flying backheel that allows Mawuli, positioned in the six-yard box, to shoot on goal under the Curva Sud. At half time, therefore, the score is tied. In the second half, the same twenty-two players returned to the field and Arezzo started off strong, earning a series of inviting free kicks: the most dangerous was taken by Righetti in the 52nd minute, with the ball ending just wide. Shortly before, the same full-back had crossed into the area with the right spin for Ravasio, who headed the ball just over the crossbar. Arezzo continues to attack in search of the lead: in the 63rd minute, a triple chance is not exploited, first by Dezi, then twice by Mawuli. The goal, however, was in the air and arrived a minute later thanks to the usual Pattarello, who received the ball outside the area, moved to the centre in his own way and with a left-footed strike beat Melgrati, whose uncertainty was decisive on the occasion. Lucchese is now on the ropes and Arezzo is overflowing: Tavernelli burns Galli of high school on the left and serves the number ten, who once again scores with another left-footed shot from the edge when the clock strikes 69'. With the double advantage Bucchi makes the first changes: Settembrini and Chierico come in for Dezi and Mawuli. There was still time, however, for Tavernelli's magic, who in the 76th minute placed the ball in the top corner with a deadly right-footed shot, amidst the applause of the Comunale crowd. The last twenty minutes, including injury time, are pure academic.
