Cycling, Federico Pozzetto wins the Gran Fondo Strade Bianche in Siena

Siena, 9 March 2025 – At the finish line in Piazza del Campo in Siena where 24 hours earlier the epic Tadej pogacar, this time arriving alone with a final sprint was Federico Pozzetto, who thus won the 2025 edition of the Gran Fondo Strade Bianche. The amateur cyclist of MG Kvis Olmo Promotech concluded his excellent performance in 3h37'32” anticipating Giovanni Loiscio by ten seconds, while Patrick Facchini was third on the podium with a delay of about a minute. Among the female representatives, Giulia Bisso, a representative of Team Piùsport, won in a time of 4 hours with places of honor for Laura Kramar Simenc of Santini Squadra Corse and for Maine Lenehan of Dan Morissey Pissei Cycling Team.

If this was the result of the long route, on the medium route Paolo Totò won among the men in 2 hours and 16 minutes ahead of Paolo Ciavatta and Vittorio Carrer, while the first among the women was Giulia Visaggi in 2h30'58” who preceded Michela Santini and Alessia Bortoli. The event was organized by the Rcs Active Team, with the presence of approximately 6.500 competitors including many from abroad, with Belgium, Great Britain and Holland among the most represented nations. Also present were competitors from New Zealand, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Niger, Swaziland, Saudi Arabia and Ghana. Among the cycling personalities present were Alessandro Ballan, Paolo Bettini, Maurizio Fondriest and Filippo Pozzato.
