Filippo Ganna wins opening time trial of Tirreno-Adriatico
Lido di Camaiore (Lucca), March 10, 2025 - Filippo Gana he surpassed himself in the Tirreno Adriatico. In 2022 on the same route he had won the time trial and two years ago he had done the double. This time he made the hat trick lowering the time recorded in 2023 by 11 seconds to an average of 56,173 km.
A stratospheric performance by the giant in the tricolor jersey, and a victory achieved with a fantastic second part of the race when he recovered the two seconds of delay at the Fiumetto half-time where the halfway point was scheduled, inflicting a good 25 seconds on the young Spaniard Ayuso. Also closely followed by new national coach Italian company Marco Villa who has led him many times on the track, the Ineos Grenadier champion confirmed that he is in excellent condition after intense preparation during the winter. In Ganna's sights the Sanremo and why not the Paris-Roubaix. Ayuso also did well, remaining one of the main favorites of the race that started from Versilia in the presence of a good crowd, and a good performance by the young Dane Pijtersen who came in third.
For the blue colors, in addition to super Ganna, a brilliant Tiberi (4th), and good both Milan (5th) and Cattaneo (6th). For Ganna it was the thirty-fourth victory of his career and the 27th in a time trial. Tomorrow, Tuesday 11 March, the second stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico with the meeting starting at 10 am in Piazza XXIX Maggio in Camaiore and then the official start at 11,35 am for a 192 kilometre stage that will take the riders to the finish line in Follonica.

The winner of the race in which 46 competitors took part, traveled at an average of 50,182 km. Bertoncelli was fourth and Marchi fifth while the only Tuscan in the Top ten was Pietro Menici from Prato of Casano-Stabbia who came seventh.
