Of the nine victories achieved so far, the one in Taiwan is certainly the most prestigious for James Ballabio (photo). In the small island nation of East Asia, the Brianza native from Giussano achieved the most important victory of his career by beating the professionals in the third stage of the Taiwan Tour, the 154-kilometer Baozhong Yimin Temple Xinpu-Shigang Visitor Center. Ballabio beat Lorenzo Quartucci and Australian Dylan Hopkins in the sprint: "I was happy even hours after my triumph - Ballabio commented -. I'm very happy to have won the most important race of my life. I'm happy for the emotions and sensations I felt: it's a success that counts, because Taiwan is a class 2.1 race, which means reserved for professionals. It's never easy to beat stronger teams and teams of a higher level than mine and taking it home was an incredible feeling". A globetrotting sprinter, the rider from Giussano, born in 1998, grew up cycling at Giovani Giussanesi, then a stint at Salus Seregno and Energy Team, before making his debut among amateurs in Switzerland at the court of Equipe Exploit Goomah Bike.
She stayed in Switzerland for three seasons, from Goomah she moved to Continental IAM Excelsior then emigrated to France for Velo Club Villefranche Beaujolais and the Charvieu Chavagneux IC team. She left the French for New Zealand and settled in the Global 6 Cycling Team in the 2023-2024 two-year period. Finally, since January of this year with the Austrian team Hrinkow Advarics which has brought her luck up to now.
