There are 116 students registered for the 76th Coppa Sei Martiri-Memorial Gino Bartali, one of the oldest races on the cycling calendar in Tuscany, which will be held this morning in Ponte a Ema, organized by the Aquila sports club of president Francesco Panichi. The race will be valid for the assignment of the provincial Florentine title for athletes residing in the province of Florence and is the preview of the Regional Championship of the category scheduled in Pieve a Fosciana in Garfagnana on Sunday 29 June where on the same day there will also be the two 1st and 2nd year Tuscan championships. The meeting point is at the Circolo L'Unione in via Chiantigiana, where the headquarters of the Florentine club founded in 1927 are also located (and Gino Bartali was one of the first athletes to wear the traditional black and white jersey), where the arrival is scheduled at the end of the 80 km. The race, which will pay homage to the Martyrs' plaque before the start, includes the asperities of Carbonile, the Incisa Castle, and in the finale the climb from Bagno a Ripoli to Osteria Nuova, followed by the descent to Antella, Ponte a Niccheri and the arrival around midday in Ponte a Ema with the award ceremony at the Circolo l'Unione on via Chiantigiana.
