Cycling, Poggiali talks about his career at the Gino Bartali Museum
Nice evening with lots of people in Ponte a Ema

Roberto Poggiali during his story
Bagno a Ripoli (Florence), March 7, 2025 - A splendid evening with a hundred people crowding the hall of the Gino Bartali Cycling Museum in Ponte a Ema, to listen (and it is always a pleasure) to the former cycling champion, the Florentine Doc Roberto Poggiali. Another evening conceived by Maurizio Bresci and Marco Pasquini with the collaboration of Pedale Vintage 4G, after the previous ones when other cycling champions such as Learco Guerra and Enzo Sacchi were remembered. Poggiali in his fantastic story wanted to begin by remembering Andrea Bresci, who poured immense commitment and passion into the Museum at the helm of the Association now chaired by his son Maurizio.
A career that of "Robertino" full of happy moments close to the champions of his time, the memory of victories, but also difficult moments, and once he got off the bike he wanted to remember his commitment as a regional technician leading the Representative of Tuscany at the Giro della Lunigiana juniores. Among the people who attended, Elisabetta Nencini, the winner of a Giro d'Italia Andy Hampsten, Giancarlo Brocci, the RAI commentator for cycling Francesco Pancani, Nicola Armentano of the Metropolitan City of Florence, Gianni Taccetti provincial representative of Coni, Giuliano Passignani of the Glorie Toscane Cycling Club, Giovanni Buti of Uisp, Tommaso Coppolaro of the Sports Office of the Municipality of Florence, as well as many athletes and friends of Poggiali. The final surprise was exciting with the video greetings of Norma Gimondi, Bugno and Chiappucci, Stefano Del Re, Moser and Saronni. Roberto Poggiali, who kept a diary that he meticulously noted day after day during his cycling career, told only half of his story, so at the end of the evening it was decided by Maurizio Bresci to invite Roberto again in June, on the terrace of the Museum for an open-air evening with other episodes, stories, anecdotes and much more.
