On Saturday, March 15, the “Pedalata Rosa” will take place, starting at 9,30:9,30, while on Sunday there will be space for bicycles and vintage clothing with this event now in its fourth edition. There will be four “ciclostorici” routes on the Florentine hills that will touch five municipalities in the Florentine area. Cycling enthusiasts can choose between more challenging routes such as the “Lastrense” (74 km with a difference in altitude of 1.354 metres, 13 km of dirt roads and short but steep climbs), medium difficulty itineraries of about 47 km and a difference in altitude of 544 metres (“Colline” route), with three sectors of dirt roads, without long climbs but dotted with more or less steep climbs. The “Bramasole” itinerary, on the other hand, drops to 37 km, with a difference in altitude of 350 metres, mainly on asphalt roads, with the exception of three sectors on dirt roads. Even in this case the climbs are not long but steep. The least challenging route is the “Scansalavilla”: 30 km of road for a difference in altitude of 160 metres. Historic routes, from Enrico Caruso's house to the Montegufoni Castle, symbolic places of the countryside between Lastra a Signa and Montespertoli. On the three days of March 14, 15 and 16, there will also be a vintage sports village in the historic center of Lastra a Signa inside the Brunelleschi walls. An event that is not only a reenactment, but also a rediscovery and taste for the historic bicycle, for safety, without that modernity that too often becomes overbearing and dangerous. Significant in this regard is the initial minute of silence dedicated to Sara Piffer, the latest victim, in chronological order, of a culture that needs to be revised.
