Cycling/2. 'Ali Dorate'Montale, what a team. Forty years of activity

The team 'Golden Wings' Montale has celebrated 40 years of activity and is preparing this season to seize the opportunity of the passage of the stage of Tour of Italy to organize ayouth initiative. Last year a great race for students was organised in collaboration with Ciclistica Maranello, which saw over one hundred of the best athletes from Northern Italy at the start, with the victory of one of the promising youngsters. Italian cycling, namely Brandon Fedrizzi who then wore the tricolour jersey.

In Montale in the 50s the USMontalese amateur club carried out intense activity, with a glorious past that saw Nunzio Pellicciari as the protagonist, now 90 years old, who raced in some Giro d'Italia as a domestique for Meo Venturelli from Pavullo, the only Modenese in the pink jersey after the war; Montale cycling is represented today by the heirs of that past.

The company is chaired by Maurizio Guastadini with secretary Germano Vezzalini and advisors Gilberto Gianpaolo, Gianfranco and Gincarlo Bonfiglioli, Enea Richeldi, Pietro Lavini, Sesto Bortolacelli and Franco Dettori. The members have carried out intense cycling tourism activity both on the road and off-road while some have also carried out competitive activity and among these Alioscia Riccobaldi and Sergio Padovani, who have achieved a couple of victories among the masters and from next month are ready to face a new season.
