Cycling: Eroica Juniores from Siena to Montalcino in the works
More than 30 teams have already registered for the May competition

Siena, 24 April 20225 – Less than a month to go until the international Coppa Andrea Meneghelli competition, now in its fifth edition, that is the Eroica Juniores from Siena to Montalcino. The day of the event is Saturday 17th May with a line-up of prestigious teams registered in which foreign teams from Slovenia, France, Czech Republic, San Marino, Great Britain, Germany, Romania.
The race, included in the UCI international calendar, will take place on a route that will take you from Siena to Montalcino for a total of 107 kilometers and will also see many of the best Italian teams at the start. So far, no Italian runner has ever managed to raise his arms to the sky in Piazza del Popolo in Montalcino.
"We are happy to be able to host the fifth edition of Eroica Juniores - Coppa Andrea Meneghelli on our white roads – declares Nicoletta Fabio, Mayor of Siena - A race dedicated to the youngest that confirms, once again, the great synergy between the Municipality of Siena and L'Eroica in promoting the world of two wheels and that cannot fail to involve the new generations also through those founding values and principles that have made this race famous: such as sharing, the rediscovery of fatigue, love for the territory, the protection of dirt roads and respect for the environment".
Path: There are a total of 107 undulating kilometers with numerous sometimes steep climbs. There are four sections of dirt road in total, for a total of about 24 kilometers, in the localities of La Piana, Le Crete, Sesta and Argiano. Dirt roads in perfect condition with a well-maintained and beaten surface, arriving in Montalcino (Piazza del Popolo) at about 16.30:XNUMX.
Unofficial departure at 14.00 pm from Siena – Fortezza Medicea while the official one will be given at 14,10 pm from Costafabbri – Pod. Oliva.
