Mikel Demiri triumphs in the Trofeo Città di Grosseto, Uisp amateur cycling race

Mikel Demiri of the Team Promotech Mg-KVis, is imposed in the Grosseto City Trophy, race of Uisp amateur cycling organized by the Marathon Bike Team. Demiri in a sprint with the frayed group, but with almost compact ranks, precedes on the climb that leads to the excavations of Roselle Fabrizio Mariottini (Vam Cycling Club) and Lucio Margheriti (Il Monte Asd). Also in the top ten are Luisiano Cannizzaro, Ludovico Cristini, Marco Diamanti, Carlo Bugliani, Daniele Paoli, Loriano Giannini and Francesco Bacci.

"It was a great route, in line – says Demiri, at the end awarded by the Uisp president, Massimo Ghizzani –. I had a good time and the team gave me a hand. I am almost always present at the races in Maremma, I like these routes and I will definitely return".

Fabrizio Mariottini, second overall and winner of the second bracket, can also smile. "It's the second win of the season - he explains - and arriving with the youngest is certainly a satisfaction".

The category winners in the race that saw 74 cyclists at the start: Diamanti (Elite Sport); Yuri Botticelli, Uc Trasimeno (M1); Cristini (M2), Margheriti (M3); Filippo Scelfo, Vitam-In Cmf (M4); Paoli (M5); Alberto Lamberti, Team Vallone (M6); Giannini (M7); Fabio Alberi, Valdarno Regia Congressi (M8).
