The first edition of the was a great success Tuscan MTB Cross Country Championship, dedicated to 'Alberto Ferrari called the Mazzo' in the suggestive areas of the sports facilities of Castel del Piano. A technical 3,5 km course saw over one hundred and fifty athletes from all over Tuscany compete in a day full of emotions, passion and sporting spirit, transforming this event into an unmissable event for mountain bike enthusiasts in the region. The event, organized by Amiata Bike involved both promising youngsters and more experienced cyclists, united by the desire to test themselves and experience the true spirit of sport. The day ended with the awards ceremony for the top three in each category and with special recognition for the best young people, in an atmosphere of celebration and conviviality. "This first edition has shown how important it is to share this passion and grow together" said Monica Fanciulli, president of Amiata Bike. This event for Amiata Bike was also an important test bench in view of an even more significant one like the Amiata Bike Festival, which will be held in Abbadia San Salvatore from 25 to 27 July. Also in Abbadia, in addition to the Cicloturistica Amiata Bike and the main race, the Italian Gravel Championship, a challenge dedicated to young people will take place during the three days inside the Parco Nazionale delle Miniere del Monte Amiata. A very important event to promote the passion for cycling to young and old. Before the start of the races, the organizers wanted to dedicate a minute of silence as a sign of closeness to the family in memory of Andrea Savelli, president of Avis Castel del Piano.
