Montemurlo, 24 April 2025 - Triumph during the Easter weekend in the 24th edition of the Vuelta Ibiza mountain bike race in Spain, for the Soudal Team of Montemurlo thanks to the off-road performances of the former world champion Colombian Leonardo Paez and Dario Cherchi.
The two bikers proved to be unbeatable in this stage competition in which they were favourites, winning for the second consecutive year the overall victory by dominating the first two stages and managing the third intelligently.
But the praise must be extended to the entire team with Alessio Agostinelli, Lorenzo Trincheri, Sandra Mairhofer and Adelheid Morath who finished second in the women's Vuelta.
A winning performance that started on the first day in the heart of Ibiza, with a challenging stage 67 km and 2.000 metres of altitude difference. The reigning champions, Dario Cherchi and Leonardo Paez, imposed an intense pace from the first climbs, distancing their opponents and maintaining the lead until the finish line.
In the second stage, considered the most challenging of 87 km and 2.400 meters of altitude difference, the couple Italian-Colombian consolidated his supremacy over the feared Puig d'en Morna (2km at 12%) by taking another stage victory, then managing and controlling his opponents during the third and final stage.
