The last cycling day, marred by the fatal accident of the motorcycle relay rider Piero Pratesi of the Gruppo Motociclisti Pistoiesi during the Juniores race in Stabbia, saw the eighth seasonal victory of the Iperfinish of Fucecchio with Andrea Mori from Donoratico, from Livorno, at his first seasonal center. He won it with a strong attack on the uphill straight at the end of the Arezzo race in Le Poggiola, now in its forty-second edition and with over two hundred and fifty registered at the starting line. Mori is in his first season in the Allievi category and in 2024 he was among the most brilliant Tuscan Esordienti of the second year. The Fucecchio team completed the victory with the fifth place of the other Livorno native Emanuele Favilli, while Marco Spanio, recent winner in Calenzano, came in tenth.
For Team Hopplà, on the other hand, a day with a couple of placings in the Top Ten at the end of the Daniele Tortoli Memorial, which also took place in the province of Arezzo and was won by Tommaso Dati from Versilia of Biesse Carrera. Alfio Andrea Bruno from Catania came in sixth, while the new Tuscan Elite champion Matteo Regnanti finished eighth. Now the team directed by Stefano Roncalli will be busy next weekend in two prestigious Tuscan races. On Saturday 10 May in Marcialla in the seventy-first Giacomo Matteotti Trophy, while on Sunday it will take part in the thirty-sixth Gran Premio Industrie del Marmo, an international race with start and finish in Marina di Carrara.
