Ferrara is preparing to celebrate the tenth anniversary of 'The Fury, the Po River historical cycling event that on Sunday from 9.30, with its slow and evocative pace, will transform the bicycle into a bridge between past and present. It is not just a race, nor a simple ride: it is a collective story that winds through Ferrara, Copparo and Riva del Po, an ode to unhurried travel, to the beauty of the landscape, to the breath of history. The streets will fill up with vintage bicycles and cyclists in vintage clothes, evoking the charm of a time when speed was a detail and the essence of travel lay in discovery. La Furiosa is not just sport, but also culture, sustainable tourism and taste.

"We expect 200 participants on historic racing bikes, that is, up to 1987, and registration will be possible on Saturday and Sunday," explains Simone Zannini of Po River. "From Piazza Trento Trieste, we will go to the under-walls, then towards Copparo, at Villa Mensa and at Castello di Fossadalbero there will be two refreshment points with typical products." On Saturday and Sunday, the square will also host the expo area. "We are proud partners for the fourth year," said Massimo Ravaioli, vice president of the Consorzio di Bonifica di Ferrara, "an event that has grown and that brings a lot of movement to the center, also making our Palazzo Naselli Crispi known and valorized."

For the Municipality, the sports councilor Francesco Carità reiterated how much Ferrara is focusing on sports and cycling, further opening the city to new tourism, also recalling the nearby stage of the Coppi and Bartali, concepts also underlined by the councilor Matteo Fornasini, who instead recalls the Gran Fondo del Po of March 16: "All events that bring hundreds of tourists and therefore induced, but which are also promotion of the excellence of the territory". Furiosa also has the support of the Region because, as said by Marcella Zappaterra, "there is an important focus on cycling".

"The number of people from Ferrara who participate is increasing – continues Zannini –, they feel the Furiosa as something of theirs, also remembering the historic local bike builders and dusting off the ones they have in the cellar and, why not, becoming young again and retracing their own past. The historic bike movement has grown a lot. What does a historic bike have more than a modern bike? The history, the passion of those who made it, the way it emanates memories and sensations".
