'La Furiosa' confirms itself as a highly attractive event with a successful attendance. Tenth edition of the original cycle-tourist race, yesterday morning in Piazza Trento Trieste over 200 cycling enthusiasts and enthusiasts gathered vintage two-wheelers from different Italian regions. A themed initiative, organized by Po River Asd, with the patronage of the Municipality and the Region, with the collaboration of the municipalities of Copparo and Riva del Po. The Consorzio di Bonifica Pianura di Ferrara was the institutional partner of the event. Over the weekend, in addition, in Piazza Trento Trieste there were also moments dedicated to the little ones, such as the 'Gimkana bimbi e bici', in collaboration with the qualified instructors of the Otello Putinati and Sancarlese associations.
Departure from Piazza Trento Trieste, attended by the Councilor for Tourism Matteo Fornasini, the delegations of Confagricoltura and Consorzio di Bonifica. The almost 200 participants traveled 62 km through the Ferrara countryside, alternating with dirt roads up to the 'destra Po' cycle path and back to Piazza Trento Trieste.
An even more cycle-tourist edition of 'La Furiosa' linked to the territory of the Estensi, the two refreshment points located in the places of the Estensi delights, Villa Mensa di Copparo and the Fossadalbero Castle, were much appreciated by the participants, with the possibility of tasting the excellence of the Ferrara food and wine tradition. Simone Zannini, president of Po River Asd, satisfied at the end: "A good participation, the route and our refreshment points were appreciated. A big thank you to the institutions that collaborated and to all the volunteers who allowed the success of this tenth edition". The main characteristic of 'La Furiosa' is that the cyclists must have vintage racing bikes built before 1987, in addition, it is mandatory to wear clothing that is appropriate and consistent with the bicycle used, so shorts and wool sweaters from various periods for the 80s. At the end everyone went to the 'pasta party' in the prestigious docks of the Estense Castle. Here the awards for the most 'Furious' and the most 'Furiosa' were held, assigned to those who had the most vintage clothing in the spirit of the event: the winners were Gianni Abbruzzese and Valeria Nicolin respectively. Another award for the 'most furious bicycle' was assigned to Gianni Zandarin from Padua. To ensure the safety of the participants there were the historic cars of the Officina Ferrarese, the motorcycles of the Moto Club "Casco Matto", the Jolanda Vespa club, supported by the Local Police of Ferrara and Copparo and Riva del Po and the Radio Club of Copparo.
