Women's Volleyball: Serie C Championship Adapts to Pope Francis' Funeral

The Saturday without sporting events, as requested by CONI to the sporting federations on the day of Pope Francis' funeral, has also changed the programmes of the local volleyball. The thirteenth and third-last day of the regular season of the Women's Serie C Championship, for example, will be held over the course of a week, from today, Thursday 24 April to Thursday 1 May. Among the Pistoia teams, the Blue Volley Quarrata has chosen to play this evening, starting at 21 pm at the PalaMelo in the city of furniture, against the Cenerentola of group B Donoratico. The team trained by coach Davide Torracchi, currently ninth with 35 points, will show up on the field in its best version: a success to start planning the next season, 2025/26.
The problem did not arise for the Volley Aglianese of coach Marco Targioni, who was resting according to the calendar. The other Pistoia teams will play on Thursday 1st May. From 21pm, at the Fanciullacci gym in Pieve a Nievole, the derby between Montebianco Volley Pieve a Nievole, fourth in the ranking at 43, and the Bottegone Volleyball Project, third to last at 24 and desperately seeking salvation points. At the same time, but at the PalaCavanis in Porcari, a promotion challenge between Mc Donald's third at 61 and Pallavolo Delfino Pescia, second at 63. In the women's Serie D tournament, both Lavachiara Buggiano, who will host Baccicampi at Pala Spadoni in Borgo a Buggiano from 1 pm, and Pistoia Volley La Fenice, who will visit Img Nottolini on the Capannori pitch from 21 pm, have opted to move the matches to May 21st.
