Sepang, 3 November 2024 – Pecco Bagnaia ha won the 2024 Malaysian Grand Prix in front of Jorge Martin and it holds like this the world cup opened which will be decided at the last race, on November 17th. The Turin driver is now 24 points behind the Spaniard of Ducati Pramac. Third Enea Bastianini.

Coming from yesterday's bloody 'zero' in the Sprint Race, Bagnaia is still clinging tooth and nail to his last hopes of a comeback. Pecco does what he needs to do, but his rival significantly limits the damage by crossing the finish line in second place and maintaining a 24-point lead in the standings, when there is only one more Sprint and one more GP to go until the end of the season (the race will be held on November 17th in Barcelona after Valencia had to cancel its GP due to flooding).

At the start, the usual duel between Bagnaia and Martin, with the Italian responding forcefully to the first attack attempt by his Spanish rival, maintaining the lead of the race, but behind a contact between Alex Marquez and Binder triggers a terrifying pile-up involving the South African himself, Quartararo and Miller. The former Ducati rider is the one who gets the worst of it and remains dangerously on the ground for a few minutes, but after the red flag and the help on the track he gets back on his feet, making everyone breathe a sigh of relief. The second start from the grid smiles again on Pecco, but 'Martinator' shows he is not afraid by engaging in a heart-stopping duel between braking, overtaking and counter-overtaking that goes on for a few laps before Bagnaia takes off and maintains the advantage until the end without any chance of reply.
