MotoGP final race, Bagnaia and Bastianini critical of Barcelona: "It's not the best to race in Spain"
Dorna has chosen Barcelona to replace Valencia, but for some riders it is not right to race in Spain after everything that has happened: "We will adapt, but..."

Pecco Bagnaia
Bologna, 5 November 2024 – The last Grand Prix of the 2024 MotoGP season is taking place. Nothing Valencia, hit by the tragedy of the flood, but rather Barcelona, also in the rain these hours but nothing comparable to the devastation of the Comunitat Valenciana. We remain in Spain, therefore, and it was decided to close the world championship anyway, preferring, also for logistical reasons, Montmelo to Portimao, Jerez and Losail which were the other three alternatives. The show does not stop, even in pain, and the Catalan one will be a Grand Prix of Solidarity. But some riders are less in agreement than others, because racing in Spain with everything that is happening does not seem right.
Bagnaia and Bastianini: “It’s not fair, but we’ll adapt”
The two official Ducati Enea riders were particularly critical bastianini and Pecco bagnaia, who would have preferred to race in another country given the tragedy that hit Spain and Valencia. As reported by motorsport.com, the two Lenovo riders do not completely agree with Dorna's decision to race in Barcelona: "From my point of view it is not right to race in Spain, but it is Dorna's choice and we adapt - said Bastianini - I do not agree 100% with racing in Barcelona after everything that happened, but whoever made the decision evidently noted that it was the only possible solution". Pecco is on the same wavelength bagnaia: “Racing in Spain is not the best, but at least we won't be in Valencia where the situation is desperate. It's right to race elsewhere even if it's a shame”. The circus has already raced in Barcelona in May, but the weather conditions in November will be totally different, so it's difficult to imagine bagnaia favorite. Also, Martin he has 24 points to manage and 14 in two races are enough to win the title: "I think it will be difficult with the conditions - Pecco again - It will be colder and turn 2 is very difficult. Usually in Barcelona I go well but it is a tricky track where you need to be precise". And instead Jorge Martin What do you think? “My performances between Valencia and Barcelona are similar – his answer – At Montmelo I was on the podium in 2022 and 2023 and I think I can be competitive, but there are difficult corners to pay attention to and the weather conditions will be different. It will probably be colder, windier and maybe rain”. For the Spaniard, the advantage is being able to manage the margin on Pecco, who today is 24 points with 37 available. Between sprints and long races, Martin must accumulate at least 14 points to win the world championship given that a finish on equal points would reward Bagnaia for the greater number of victories. The race will take place from 15 to 17 November.
