The drivers: we are not racing in Valencia. Qatar or Barcelona for the last GP
After the terrible flood, the request to move the race of 17th Sepang from 'Tormo', tomorrow the Sprint

Jorge Martin, 26, and Francesco Bagnaia (27): the Spaniard leads the standings by 17 points over the reigning world champion
The date may not change, and therefore the last GP of the season, the one that will assign the 2024 World Championship, will be on the weekend of November 17. But Dorna is also ready to postpone everything by a week. The location, however, will almost certainly change. A couple more days and Dorna, after meeting the teams, and checking the alternatives, will choose which track will be used instead of the one in Valencia. This is more or less the minutes signed by Carmelo Ezpeleta yesterday, after the extraordinary meeting called to address the consequences of the tragedy that hit the Valencian Community with the flood 48 hours ago.
The Ricardo Tormo track has not suffered any damage, but everything surrounding the circuit has. And then the drama and pain of the many deaths will not be able to coincide with the celebration that MotoGP will bring with it: this is why racing in Valencia will be virtually impossible. The alternatives? From Qatar to Barcelona, at the moment, these seem to be the tracks from which the last stage of 2024 will emerge, with a doubling in Malaysia evaluated but objectively more complicated for logistical reasons. In the end, Qatar could win with a night race. Losail is ready to welcome MotoGP. Everyone agrees, riders and teams.
"Racing in Valencia would not be right", Pecco Bagnaia harshly underlines. Identical words also from his rival in the race for the title, Martin ("you cannot race in Valencia"), and Marc Marquez, from Sepang, was one of the first to underline how "it would be inappropriate to end the season at Ricardo Tormo, after a drama like this".
From the Spaniard of the Gresini team to the other Spaniard, Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia: "If the track has not suffered any damage, there remain many problems for the hospitals and those who must provide assistance or think about helping the city return to normality".
In the meantime, starting today (pre-qualifications at 8:10 Italian time) the Malaysian GP will start, where the Martin-Bagnaia head-to-head will still be able to experience a very important stage. "I have to leave a gap of less than 17 points this weekend", is Bagnaia's plan, who is currently chasing Martin (Pramac) with a delay of XNUMX points. At Ducati - we are talking about the official team - there is no talk of strategies. Not even from his adventure companion, Bastianini, who admits: "No, I will not help anyone. Not even Bagnaia". Martin: "I want to win. Do I feel stronger than a year ago? I have learned a lot from my mistakes".
The program. Tomorrow morning (8 am in Italy), the Sprint Race. Sunday the races (all times in Italy): 5 am Moto3; 6,15 am Moto2; 8 am MotoGp. All live on SkyMotoGp and streaming on Now.
