Marquez triumphs at the Qatar GP: Ducati dominates, Bagnaia and Vinales chase
Marquez dominates the Qatar GP with Ducati, winning over Vinales and Bagnaia. Martin unlucky, accident and hospitalization.

Il Qatar GP It brings with it these three notes. First: Marquez he is invincible and the figures of his debut in Ducati official they highlight it in red. Seven wins out of eight (between Sprint and races) in the first four GPs of the season. Second: bagnaia he gets busy, as soon as he has the chance to do so he remembers that he is a number one rider, but he is still far (very far) from Marquez. He finishes in second place, but why? Vinales he received a huge penalty (from second to 14th place) for having tyre pressures "lower than the regulation ones".
Third: Martin has already won the World Championship of misfortune. As soon as he returned to the track (precisely in Qatar) after the stop for the fracture to his wrist, he ended up – yesterday – in hospital for a very bad blow (hit on the ground by Di Giannantonio's bike) that caused him a "pneumothorax and six fractures of the posterior costal arches". Jorge was applied a drain for the aspiration of the pneumothorax and will have to remain in hospital under observation for a few days.
The race: Marquez won over a combative, motivated and very fast Vinales (Ktm) and with Bagnaia (third), ahead of Morbidelli who had lit up the GP with a spectacular start. The chronicle tells of a beautiful race, especially before the attack of Marquez's Ducati, when Bagnaia, Vinales and Morbidelli also challenged each other with a flurry of thrilling overtakings and counter-overtakings.
Marc's strength? Not taking risks and landing the right blow at the right time. "Maybe - he smiles - I'm getting old. But to win you have to do it like this. Avoid mistakes, manage yourself and think that if you want to leave everyone behind, even strong riders like Bagnaia or Vinales, you can't give anything away".
"I'm happy – Marc continues –, very happy after the slip in Texas, this was a very important victory for me. I took everything: pole, Sprint, race and fastest lap. Amazing".
With his first step on the podium in Qatar, Marquez has reached (114 podiums in the premier class) Jorge Lorenzo. Only Valentino Rossi has done better than them. "And then - concludes the Spaniard of Ducati - there is another number that I like to highlight: in Qatar I had won the last time 10 years ago, in 2014... It was time to update this statistic".
A word from Bagnaia. A nice duel with Marquez, another with Morbidelli and a... regret: "In the end the result - says Pecco - is ok, but it makes me angry to think that everything was more complicated because of what I didn't do well in qualifying on Saturday".
"For the rest - adds Bagnaia - I'm still struggling a bit in the management. Now in the races that will be held in Europe things will go better".
Another piece of news highlights the fact that Alex Marquez ruined his race after a handful of laps by making a wrong braking and hitting Di Giannantonio. A heavy crash also for the rider of Vale's team who falls back a sea of positions. Diggia gets really angry with Alex ("but it's true that I made a mistake").
Mandatory closing for Morbidelli (third and therefore on the podium after the Vinales case). His Ducati, the one of Valentino's team, lapped at a thousand, flew in the very first part of the race and maintained a pace worthy of the podium. Maybe even a victory. "We did a great job. We'll have fun".
