Martin-Bagnaia, who will win MotoGp? Combinations and TV times of the Barcelona Grand Prix
Pecco closes the gap in the Sprint Race but Jorge, third, is 19 points behind: a desperate mission for the world championship even if the Italian can take his eleventh victory of the season

Jorge Martin is close to the MotoGP world title
Barcelona, November 16, 2024 – Pecco doesn't give up bagnaia, but Jorge Martin is solid and concrete. The world championship did not close on Saturday in the sprint race and will be decided only on Sunday, after the long race. The reigning number one won ahead of Enea bastianini and Jorge Martin, which means that in the last GP of the season he will have to recover 19 points with 25 available: almost a desperate mission. It means, in fact, winning and gaining the 25 points of the long race and hoping that Martin does not do better than tenth. Considering the competitiveness of Ducati and Martin, unless there are mistakes, it is complicated for Bagnaia to complete the sensational comeback. In any case, he will try, because, exactly like in the spring, in Barcelona the Ducati rider is going strong and has rhythm, and with him also Bastianini, who gave a hard time in the Sprint Race, but Jorge is always there, on the podium and with these premises it is difficult to recover so many points. Also because another one who could be a nuisance, namely Marc Marquez, was definitely in the shadow in the sprint race.
The conditions for Pecco's victory
Pecco has two results available bagnaia which are worth more than the 19 points of delay. Obviously, the victory, which is worth 25 points and in that case we should hope for a placing of tenth or lower for Jorge Martin. In fact, arriving tenth, the Spaniard would take 6 points, therefore he would arrive on equal points but the Italian would be world champion for the greater number of victories. The ninth place would reward the Pramac rider with 7 points earned. If Bagnaia arrived second, therefore 20 points, at that point Martin would have up to fourteenth place, two points, to win the world championship. Finally, in the event of a fall by the Spaniard, bagnaia would win the title by finishing first or second, because third place rewards with 16 points which would not be enough.
Starting grid
Another sumptuous pole position for Pecco bagnaia who confirmed himself as the best on the single lap. 1'38”641 for the 2023 world champion with half a tenth of an advantage over a surprising Aleix Asparagus, in his last race before moving to Honda testers, and a tenth on Marc Marquez, who starts from an attacking position for both the Sprint and the long race, but without great pace. Jorge had to settle for the second row Martin two tenths behind, ahead of Franco Morbidely and Pedro Acosta. Only eighth Aeneas bastianini four tenths late.
Row 1: Bagnaia, Espargaro, M. Marquez
Row 2: Martin, Morbidelli, Acosta

The Sprint Race
Sprint Race with no history for the first position. bagnaia he only had to suffer in the first corner where Martin, with his usual great start, had slipped in from the back, with Bastianini, but Pecco found the right trajectories in turns 2 and 3 to sneak in on the inside and break away. Behind, the battle for second place broke out, with Jorge who at a certain point seemed destined to pull away, but the beast came back in the last two laps and at turn 5 of the last lap found the decisive overtaking. In the shadow Marc Marquez, slow in pace on the Catalan track and slowed down by a contact at the start with Acosta. Fourth a very good Asparagus on Aprilia in front of Alex Márquez, Morbidelli, Mark Marquez e Bezzecchi.
The favourites
It goes fast, it has a feeling, it has rhythm. Pecco bagnaia appears to be the favourite for the Solidarity Grand Prix and starts from pole position, therefore with the possibility of not finding himself stuck in traffic on the first lap. He will have to be careful on the first corner, because Martin e bastianini they start well, but then he will be able to set the pace, probably at 1'39” and try to dig a gap. Behind he will have to hope that someone will trigger and create a battle with Martin, or hope for a mistake by the Spaniard, who however does not need to win or even get on the podium. He will stay out of trouble to manage the points he needs for the title. The beast can then take advantage of it, which is fast and in the second part of the race increases its pace, but watch out for Aleix too Asparagus, at the last race of his career and competitive with Aprilia. Little feeling instead for Marc Marquez, who does not have the pace to seek victory and was anonymous even in the sprint race. It is unlikely that there will be outsiders for the victory, while for the top positions Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta could also assert themselves.
