Bologna, November 28, 2024 – Jorge Martin he was the first rider of the MotoGP era to win a world championship with a satellite team. A historic feat, even if obtained with an updated bike, because the team's victory Pramac represents well the story of Goliath's defeat against David. The same Martin wanted to amplify the concept and underline it during the El Horniguero broadcast, where the world champion also admitted to having found further motivation after Ducati's choice not to promote him to the official team. And drawing strength he then beat bagnaia, making history together with Paolo Campinoti and Gino Borsoi.

Martin: “We wanted to make history”

Determined and determined to win a title with a satellite team. Jorge Martin he used Ducati's choice, Marc was preferred to him Marquez, to put fuel in the engine of his determination and beat Pecco bagnaia in the 2024 world championship sprint. The Spanish rider, who will be with Aprilia from 2025, said: "When Ducati changed its plans and didn't promote me to the official team, I put even more determination into trying to win the world championship and make history. I wanted to become the first to win the title in a satellite team". Will Ducati regret its choice? Maybe not, because bagnaia-Marquez they are the best duo in the world and with the best bike in the world it is likely that the titles will remain in Borgo Panigale. Martin, then, he will try to play spoilsport in Aprilia, where the first contact with the bike was positive, although with several areas to improve. In the meantime, there is still time to celebrate a titanic feat: "A team of 20 people beat a structure of 200, this means that each member of Pramac worked for 10", Jorge's sentence. Now a new chapter for Martin who will try to raise the bar for Aprilia, the only brand that managed to win a GP this season, taking away Ducati's hegemony. Noale will focus on a pair of talented riders, including Marco Bezzecchi, but it is clear that it will also be up to the engineers to make the bike competitive against the Desmosedici. Not an easy mission, but today Aprilia seems more capable of doing it than a KTM in financial crisis and the Japanese in the throes of a technical crisis that requires time. If we had to estimate the true rival of Borgo Panigale, the finger on the map would probably end up on Noale. Martin, therefore, still has the desire to win titles, but having removed the obsession of the first one, he can now think with greater serenity: "The desire to win more? On the one hand, I have achieved the goal of my life and everything that comes will be a gift, on the other hand, I still have 8-10 years of career ahead of me and I am sure that I will compete for other world titles".
