MotoGp, Morbidelli charges: “I feel good in Jerez, we want to confirm ourselves after Losail”
The VR46 rider is fourth in the world championship and has obtained two third places in Qatar. He likes the Ducati Pertamina and has always felt at ease in Jerez

Franco Morbidelli
A very convincing start to the season for Team Pertamina VR46. The pair of Italian riders are keeping the team at a high level and it is no coincidence that both are in the top five in the standings. Franco Morbidely is fourth with 78 points and three podiums in total, Fabio By Giannantonio he is fifth and is recovering well from the autumn shoulder operation. Valentino's team continues to grow Rossi, which in fact today is the second force in the championship behind the official team and with only Alex Marquez as an inconvenience. It is above all Franco Morbidelli who has returned to the top, more or less as in 2020 when he finished second behind Joan Mir in the standings and last year's learning with the Gp24 has been useful, given that the bike is practically the same. And now comes Jerez, where the Italian Brazilian also went strong last year.
Morbidelli: “I can’t wait”
A great start to the season for Franco Morbidely, capable of reaching three podiums in total. The first in Termas de Rio Hondo, even ahead of Pecco bagnaia, then the two consecutive ones in Losail with the third place in the Sprint Race and the third place in the long race. The former Yamaha rider has found in the Gp24 a bike he can trust and go fast with, and the fourth place in the riders' standings with 78 points proves it. There is enthusiasm in the Pertamina box and Franco can't wait to get to Jerez: "We come from a good weekend in Qatar with two third places and I can't wait to get on track in Jerez, I'm impatient and we have to continue with the good pace shown so far". Right in Spain, in 2024, Morbidely he began to feel the first positive sensations on the bike: “Last year was the first weekend where I went fast and felt good on the bike, in the Sprint I was close to the podium, while on Sunday I fell but the pace was good”. Fabio too By Giannantonio he is doing well. After the first GPs where he was not yet in the best physical condition after the shoulder operation, the Roman rider obtained good results with the fifth place in the standings and in Jerez he won in 2021 in Moto 2. He also wants to return to the podium, the potential is there: “Jerez is a small and technical track and we will understand if the solutions we have used in the last races can also be positive for the future – his words – I think it will be a good weekend and there will be a lot of energy for the first European Grand Prix. Our goal is to continue to show speed as we did in previous weekends. We can fight for the top positions”. The program includes the Sprint Race on Saturday 26 April at 15 pm, live on both Sky and Tv 8, while on Sunday the races starting at 11 am Moto 3, 12.20 pm Moto 2 and 14 pm Moto GP (delayed on Tv8 three hours later).
