Alex and Marc Marquez

Termas de Rio Hondo, March 16, 2025 – There is no history in these first stages of the 2025 MotoGP. The brothers Marquez they travel fast and are a cut above everyone else. Even in Argentina, following on from what was done in Thailand, the family duopoly is confirmed, with Marc taking pole position and winning the Sprint Race ahead of his brother, the only one capable of staying a few tenths behind, while Pecco bagnaia chasing at two seconds, always with a couple of tenths to recover on the race pace. In short, it promises to be a family monologue. Behind, Honda surprises zarco who seems able to compete for important positions with the two Ducati Pertamina and Bezzecchi's Aprilia. The world championship now has a clear favorite.

Favorites and strategies

Clear score for Sunday's race. Marc Marquez dominated Friday, conquered Saturday and is preparing to command Sunday as well. Number 93 is stronger on pace and seems to be playing cat and mouse, with a tenth on his brother and at least 2-3 on bagnaia. Without any mistakes at the start or during the race, no one will be able to take away his fourth consecutive victory between Sunday and Saturday. Behind, his brother Alex can keep up but he doesn't yet have the credibility needed to attempt a duel to the death and, all things considered, taking Gresini to the podium can be fine. He is a candidate for third place bagnaia, unless the night has brought two tenths less on the pace to attempt an unlikely fight for victory.

As for the rest of the field, watch out for Johann's Honda zarco who in the Sprint Race had the same pace as Bagnaia and could even fight for the podium. Protagonists for the top five could also be Morbidely e By Giannantonio for VR 46 and Bezzecchi for official Aprilia. Acosta e Quarterly, on the other hand, suffer from degradation and the sprint saw them fall back after a good start. KTM and Yamaha appear to be the two bikes furthest behind on the grid today. On race strategies, maximum attention is paid to the rear tyre. In the Sprint the soft was adopted, but in the long race someone could try the medium card to protect themselves from degradation in the second part of the race.
