MotoGp Argentina, Marquez fastest in free practice. Bagnaia in trouble

Termas de Rio Hondo, March 14, 2025 – Marc again Marquez. The Argentine Grand Prix restarts in the wake of Buriram, with the number 93 in the lead and always with a margin over his rivals. His both free practice sessions and with the track record in the Practice for access to Q2. Pecco bagnaia instead confirms a feeling that is still to be found with the new bike, but he managed to at least access Q2 even if on race pace he has to recover 3-4 tenths from the Spaniard. Good By Giannantonio and in general the Ducatis with the first three places, but there is also Bezzecchi on Aprilia.

Marquez immediately strong

First session of free practice with cloudy skies, cool temperatures after the morning rain with Moto 3 and Moto 2 on a wet track. Not easy to find the immediate feeling, in fact the riders continued to improve during the session with the best overall time of Marc Marquez, immediately at ease on the Argentine track, in 1'38”937 and followed closely by Johann zarco, just 26 thousandths behind. Behind, wider delays with Alex Marquez third at 271 thousandths, then a good Franco Morbidely fourth at 417 thousandths in a trio of Italians with Marco Bezzecchi fifth and Luke Marini sixth on a Honda on the rise. The first Yamaha was that of Jack Prima Pramac Miller seventh at 702 thousandths, then completing the top ten the KTM of Vinales, the other Honda of Mir and finally Pedro Acosta. Immediately great difficulties for Pecco bagnaia, especially in braking, with a significant delay of 1”351 in sixteenth position.

In second session better track, completely dry and in fact all the riders found a better feeling. The strategies alternated the medium-soft and medium-medium tyre combination, with a pace between 37 high and 38 low and always with Marc Marquez among the best for the race, while Pecco bagnaia he climbed back up but with a pace three tenths faster and with a fall at the end. As for the time attack for direct access to Q2, Marc's best time Marquez in 1'37”295 with 135 thousandths on By Giannantonio and 201 on his brother Alex, but Marco also performed well Bezzecchi (+215), Brad Binder (+251) and Alex Kidneys (+296). Completing the top ten directly into Q2 was Johann zarco, Fabio Quarterly, Pedro Acosta and Pecco bagnaia, tenth with just 21 thousandths on Ai Ogura, the first of the excluded. Morbidelli, Mir, Miller, Marini, Vinales, Aldeguer, Oliveira, Chantra, Fernandez, Bastianini and Savadori will also start from Q1.
