Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia

Bologna, 7 November 2024 – An epic duel in Sepang between Pecco bagnaia and Jorge MartinThe two did not hold back, especially the Spaniard who could have easily managed the second place, instead he tried in every way to beat bagnaia with thrilling overtakings and counter-overtakings. In the end the Italian prevailed, breaking away in the central phase of the race to win his tenth race of the season, on a par with sacred monsters like Agostini, Doohan, Rossi, Stoner and Marquez. The world championship, however, is in the hands of Jorge who arrives at the last GP in Barcelona with a 24-point advantage and 37 available. All he needs to do is not make a disaster to win his first world title. And the fact that a Spaniard can win will not take away the party from the Ducati world.

Dall'Igna: "It will be a great celebration. The two have honored the world cup"

He enjoys the successes of Ducati the creator of a space motorcycle, that engineer Dall'Igna that led Borgo Panigale to win everything: riders' world championship, team world championship and constructors' world championship. In short, an ace takes it all. And never mind if the title risks returning to Spain, but Martin still rides a Ducati before switching to Aprilia and there will be a party: "It will be a great party at the last race as the championship deserved - Dall'Igna's words - All the Ducati fans deserve to celebrate and also the two duelists who share a great bike and a special style of working, with great team spirit to win". In any case, the Sepang race was heart-pounding, with an exceptional battle in the first laps between Pecco and Jorge. Also Dall'Igna he enjoyed it: “One of the most exciting duels in the history of Moto GP – the engineer continues – There were braking at the limit, big bends and also great physical stress on a demanding track. Overtaking, crossings and counter-overtaking, every space was good to squeeze in”. In a Moto GP that in a couple of seasons will change the rules, with less aerodynamics, less technological devices, in order to enhance the spectacle, the two Ducati riders have shown that it is still possible to warm the hearts of the fans: “They have honoured the world championship as only champions can do – Dall'Igna concluded – With loyalty they have exalted motorcycling and we are proud of their sportsmanship. The riders respect and esteem each other”. Dall'Igna he then focused on the post-race: “Beautiful how they exchanged high fives and how they hugged each other in the parc fermé. It was a wonderful day of sport”. Now the last grand prix will be the Solidarity one and will be held in Barcelona at Montmelo between 15 and 17 November. Bagnaia must try to win both the Sprint and the long race and hope that Martin does not score 14 points. Tough, very tough.
