Bologna, 2 February 2025 – How can you improve a bike that is already the best and has dominated for years now? This is the question Michele is trying to answer Pirro, the test driver and the man who is developing the GP25 in view of a season that promises to be more competitive than ever. Ducati certainly did not need to revolutionize the project, it is the undisputed leader, but the opponents will get closer and then it becomes necessary to work on the details and on all the areas. The engineers are doing it under the careful indications of Pirro who took part in the shakedown at Sepang ahead of next week's official tests.

Pirro: “Ducati is already fast, improving it is not easy”

There is great anticipation for the first official tests in Malaysia where all the best riders on the grid will reveal their first cards, starting with the official Ducati team with bagnaia e Marquez, Via Martin in Aprilia but also for KTM, tied up by the economic crisis of the parent company: the first values will emerge. Everyone hopes to get closer to Ducati, which instead still wants to play the hare and Pirro's work is more fundamental and delicate than ever. Small innovations are expected in all areas of the bike: "My job is to try to evolve the bike - his words to Gpone - It's not easy, because the base is very good but we will try as always. We hope to take a small step forward and we have some cards to play. Then we will hear what the riders think". We are working a bit on everything, starting from the fairing, but also the engine, frame and electronics are areas that Ducati still wants to improve. From this season there will also be two less bikes, therefore less data, while Yamaha recover two and everything might level out a bit. KTM, however, remains an unknown linked to the company's debt situation and the bankruptcy repayment plan, all factors that could affect development and updates. Pirro, however, sees a greater balance of power in the field: "KTM is always very fast in Sepang and they will be in the game, but it is curious to see the work that all the manufacturers are doing. I think they will get closer, but Ducati remains the reference bike and with important riders. More than anything I am curious to see Martin on Aprilia”, Pirro's comment. Also to be considered Honda, the one that appeared further back last year and that starts again from the figure of Romano Albesiano, the promoter of Aprilia's great comeback who has now thrown himself headlong into the new Japanese adventure. In short, there are many reasons to follow a 2025 world championship that promises to be exciting. The date to mark on the calendar is the first GP in Buriram in Thailand from February 28 to March 2. The challenge begins, not long to go.
