Jerez de la Frontera, 25 April 2025 – Friday at the Spanish GP in Jerez was marked by Marquez, but not Marc. Alex had the best time of the day, in a Ducati poker in the pre-qualifying completed by Pecco bagnaia, Frank Morbidely and Marc Marquez, limited by the yellow flags in the last fast lap. Borgo Panigale confirms its leadership, but there is a recovery by Fabio's Yamaha Quarterly in fifth place. Aprilia still behind with Marco Bezzecchi.

In the morning's free practice 1, many riders tested the pace with the soft tyre on the front and the medium on the rear, with times around 1'37". Very close times, with several riders within a few tenths, before Alex Marquez opened the gas in the last ten minutes, setting the fuse alight. In the end, the best time of the morning - already well below the race record - was Alex's in 1'36”831 with 357 thousandths of an advantage over his brother Marc, then fourth Fabio Quarterly at 590 thousandths and Maverick Vinales fourth at 594. Pecco bagnaia he showed a good pace, especially on used tyres, and placed the seventh fastest time at 701 thousandths, just behind Joan Mir fifth and Jack Miller sixth, then completing the top ten Zarco and Rins at 7 tenths and Franco Morbidely at 8. Marco paid for a slow approach again Bezzecchi on Aprilia, only thirteenth at over a second behind.
At the opening of pre-qualifying, Alex immediately crashed at high speed Marquez in turn 5, he was following his brother, with a destroyed bike but an intact rider. The Gresini rider complained of a problem with his hand and missed almost the entire session except for the final time attack.
