Motogp, Marquez: “I found the answers I was looking for. Now I can fight for the title”

The 2024 season of the rider from Cervera has served to get the answers he was looking for and to calm the thoughts of retirement that had gripped him in the last season with the golden wing. Marc has understood that he is still a talent capable of winning and going fast, a fundamental aspect for every motorcyclist, thanks to a Ducati which is clearly the best motorcycle in the world, even with the old version. Marquez he also got what he was looking for, that is to go to the official team to ride the same bike as Pecco bagnaia: the goal is the ninth world title.

He needed answers, he found them and he showed Ducati that he was worth a lot, so much so that he convinced the managers to choose him for the official bike instead of the one who later became world champion, namely Jorge. Martin who was hoping for that call and instead was forced to leave and choose Aprilia. End of season press briefing for Marquez, with clear words about the present and future: “I found the answers thanks to Gresini, I am competitive and that was the main thing – his words – Next year I will have the best bike on the grid, so the best weapon to try to fight for the title. Marc will now have a winter of hard work, especially physical, to be ready for the February tests: “The first goal is to do a complete pre-season and prepare myself well physically to fight for the title. And 2024 was a bit like winning a world championship given the premises and doubts that Marc had after the difficult end of the relationship with Honda: “On a personal level it was much more than winning a title – the Spaniard’s response – I thought about quitting in the past, but now I wonder why those thoughts ever came to me. The goal is to be happy because if you are happy then you go fast”. Marquez He tested the 2025 bike in Barcelona, ​​also jumping from 2023 to 2024. First impressions similar to Pecco's bagnaia: “We had more or less the same positives and the same problems. I felt a step forward from the 2023 bike to the 2024 one, while with the 2025 it is different but the step is there”, Marc's analysis. He was then asked for a prediction on 2025, but Marquez he has taken refuge behind the February tests that will give a first idea. It is too early to give judgments: "I will tell you before the first race, let's wait for the tests where we can better see who the favorites are and I hope to be among them".
