Motogp, Marquez leaves Red Bull: in Ducati the drinks sponsor is another

Bologna, 22 December 2024 – Marc Marquez changes personal sponsor. A long relationship between the eight-time world champion and Red Bull due to his move to the official team Ducati. This means the need to abandon the historic Red Bull brand. The Spanish rider himself announced this to Servus TV, owned by the well-known Austrian soft drink brand.

To win a world championship and get to nine, Marc tried with all his strength to land in the official Ducati team, and he succeeded after just one year in Gresini. Thus, given the contract in place between the team and the American brand, Marquez will have to change his personal sponsor or decide not to have one. The relationship with the Austrians will end: "This is my last event. Ducati has another sponsor now, so we cannot continue", Marc said in an event organized by Red Bull with Max Verstappen, Formula 1 world champion and another sponsored by the Austrians. For now it seems that Marquez, out of respect for Red Bull, will decide not to have personal sponsors, while in the free spaces on the helmet, compatible with Ducati contracts, Estrella Galicia should appear, as reported by motorsport.com. For the eight-time world champion there are strict rules on clothing in official Ducati events, while in private ones he will be able to use his sponsors but never in conflict with the existing ones in red. Still remaining on the subject of Red Bull there is the delicate situation of KTM, of which the Austrians are partners in Moto GP. The creditors, we are talking about a debt mountain of almost 3 billion, are pushing for KTM's exit from the world championship. In Austria, the financing plan is being discussed and in recent days the company has received a blessed capital injection of 700 million euros, so much so that KTM has announced its participation in the 2025 Moto GP world championship. But the creditors' association, united under the acronym Associazione Creditori Alpini, is pushing for the exit and to reduce costs by abandoning the World Championship. The crisis is certainly not over and Red Bull could represent a lifeline for KTM, perhaps with financing to make the financial recovery plan concrete.
