MotoGp, Martin: “Happy with the new Aprilia, the potential is good”

It will take a bit of a feat, but optimism reigns in the Martin household, who came down to Barcelona smiling after riding the 2025 Aprilia. first sensations are good, but chipping away at the superiority of the Desmosedici requires a lot of work over the winter. The path taken by Noale seems right, or at least Jorge sees excellent potential and a progressive leap forward in the Italian project.

Martin: “Aprilia is making an effort”

At the moment Martin tested a not entirely definitive prototype of the RS-GP and a new and rich evolution is expected in the February tests for the start of the season in Buriram from 28 February to 2 March. The commitment of Aprilia there is everything and Martin recognizes the efforts and already from Barcelona he left satisfied: "The expression on my face was seen by everyone, I was happy and I don't think I could be more than I am in Aprilia", Martin's words to Motorsport.com. There is optimism, therefore, the package has potential and the company's work of these months should bear good fruit in February in the Sepang tests: "I think the leap made by the bike is the biggest in recent years and the potential is high - Jorge again. There are great expectations on Martin in Aprilia, because the first step to move up a level has been taken, today, with the KTM crisis, it is practically the second force in the championship, but the last one is the most difficult: that is, fighting for the world championship. It is no coincidence that Aprilia was the only one to steal a GP from Ducati in 2024. Listen Martin: “I see great commitment from Aprilia, they love me and are working hard, obviously there is the responsibility of having the reigning champion – Jorge's analysis – We all want to win and to do so we need an adequate strategy in the project”. However, the decline of the Noale bike in the second part of the season needs to be verified. The start was sparkling, then something went wrong with performances much further from the top. Martin, from the outside, has no explanation for what happened: “She started very well and from Aragon onwards she dropped, it's difficult to understand what happened from Austin, where Vinales won, in Jerez, where the delay was 11 seconds”. The winter work will therefore be decisive to arrive in Sepang, in February, with a competitive bike and ready for the start of the season. There the values ​​will be better understood, both of Aprilia compared to Ducati and of Marquez compared to Bagnaia with the same official GP25. It's not that long now.
