Bologna, April 21, 2025 – Jorge Martin is doing better. The 2024 world champion has been discharged from the hospital in Doha, where he had been admitted following the fall in the final laps of the Qatar GP, subsequently hit by Fabio's Ducati By Giannantonio at about 180 kilometers per hour. The consequences immediately appeared serious, even if Martin he never lost consciousness, and in fact the tests diagnosed eleven rib fractures and a pneumothorax, with consequent pulmonary drainage. This is the third serious injury in 2025 for Jorge Martin, who first fell in the Sepang tests, then in training, breaking a hand, while trying to get back. The first GP of the season in Losail, but once again a fall and a new long stop.

Martin: “I'm better”

After a few days of intensive care, Jorge's clinical conditions Martin gradually improved and it was possible to discharge him from the Hamad General Hospital, but the Aprilia rider will have to remain in Qatar for a few more days before being able to return to Europe to rest and fully recover from the various fractures he sustained. "Jorge Martin has been discharged from the Hamad General Hospital and will remain in Qatar for a few more days until his medical condition stabilizes. As soon as his condition allows, an assisted flight will be organized to return to Europe", reads the note from the Noale company.

However, it is impossible, for now, to establish recovery times. Already after Sepang, Martin he tried to accelerate and fell again while training with a motard bike, with an associated surgical operation, and then the third serious stop in a few months requires maximum caution for his return to the track. Aprilia and Martin, this time, will take all the time possible to allow for a full recovery, without forcing, without trying an unlikely race against time. Maximum bad luck, therefore, for the number one who was practically unable to defend the title and will now have to focus on 2026. In the meantime, Jorge himself wanted to send a message to the fans from Qatar: “A heartfelt thank you to all the people who are supporting me. These have been difficult days, but now I am starting to move more and feel better, even if the pain is still a lot. I want to thank Aprilia, my fans and everyone who is helping me. I will continue to fight to be one of the strongest ever", said Martinator. In the meantime, the 2025 world championship will continue next weekend for the first European Grand Prix. Moto GP lands in Jerez de la Frontera from 25 to 27 April for the fifth appointment with Marc Marquez new and rediscovered leader of the world championship with 17 points on his brother Alex and 26 points on Pecco bagnaia. It should be remembered that number 93 won seven out of eight races, leaving behind only the one on Sunday in Austin when he was leading.
