Motogp, Martin trusts Ducati: "I have no doubts, they are impeccable"
A battle on equal terms between the Spaniard and Bagnaia, the Italian will have no favoritism

George Martin
Bologna, October 30, 2024 – Seventeen points, two weekends to go and a small swing in results between the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. After Misano bagnaia he had dropped to 24 points behind, then he had returned to minus ten at the end of the Japanese GP, but between Australia and Thailand he returned to minus 17 despite the victory in the Sunday race in Buriram. In terms of successes, the official Ducati rider is clearly ahead, but evidently there have been too many mistakes if today Jorge is in the lead and therefore with the stripes of favorite for the 2024 title. The number one and reigning champion can close the season on equal points and confirm the world title, but the Spaniard from now on can always finish second to triumph by just one point (511 to 510). bastianini e Marquez, therefore, they will be partly referees of the challenge if they manage to take away points from duelists and bagnaia must try to win the remaining four races and hope that Martin, at least once, do worse than second. In any case, Ducati will not play favorites and will continue to treat the duelists equally, even with the risk of seeing the number one on the fairing of Aprilia next year.
Martin confident: “Ducati impeccable”
There are four races left to go, two sprint races and two long races, the points available for bagnaia I'm 74 but Martin, if he were to finish second four times, he would do 58, winning the world championship by one point. A misstep is needed to allow Pecco to do so, but Ducati will certainly not make team orders or give the reigning champion a more performing bike. It will be the same treatment for both. Martin trusts Borgo Panigale: “Ducati is impeccable and I never had any doubts – his words – They have already won everything and on Saturday in Buriram there were eight bikes in the first eight places. Me with the number one in Aprilia? If I get it we'll see…”. In a couple of days off to the Sepang weekend where bagnaia will try to gain more points Martin and it could be an important crossroads for the Spaniard who could also mathematically win the title if he leaves Malaysia with at least 38 points of advantage. On the other hand, bagnaia he knows he will have to significantly close the gap because arriving in Valencia more than ten points behind would mean not having many chances of victory: “It will be tough to beat Bagnaia in Sepang – Martin continues – I will definitely try and in Thailand he was better than me, but in the dry I felt stronger. I think he will be very fast in Malaysia but I will be too”. As for the times, qualifying will be at 3.50 in the night between Friday and Saturday, then Sprint Race at 8 in the morning. On Sunday morning the long race will also be at 8.
