Handover between the old and new world champions

Barcelona, 17 November 2024 – Last stage of 2024. Bagnaia wins, perfect as always, but the title goes to Jorge Martin with Ducati, the one branded Pramac.

Jorge Martin 10. He chooses not to take risks and he does well. He looks for the position from the first lap and avoids venturing into dangerous laps. He doesn't chase Pecco and Marquez and is… defended by his friend Aleix Espargaro. He does everything he had to do to take the World Championship. A lion. A winner.

Pecco Bagnaia 9,5. He wins the GP, after winning the Sprint and taking the pole. He only had to do this to continue believing until the last corner. He gives the number 1 to Martin without giving him anything. Heroic, wonderful, very fast.

Aleix Espargaro 8. He closes his adventure as a motorcycling champion in Barcelona. And he closes it with a GP with a special meaning. He helps Martin, his friend Martin, and shields him so he doesn't lose the podium, the position, the title. Bye Aleix. Congratulations.

Marc Marquez 7. Second behind Pecco. He suffers from Pecco's power. He tries to bother him but fails. Aggressive (even too much) in the first laps, then he is forced to let go, to settle for second place (and that's not a small thing) for second place.

Brad Binder 6,5. Fighting and jostling. He sends Bastianini and Acosta into a tailspin and responds to them, braking after braking, leaving them behind. He is the protagonist of a Sunday where MotoGp obviously had other things to think about, but he gives KTM a precious result.

Enea Bastianini 5,5. He starts off great. Maybe he also has in mind to go and give a hand to his teammate, Bagnaia. Then he incredibly slips back, gets sucked into the group and disappears. He says goodbye to Ducati with a race full of regrets. Too bad.

Marco Bezzecchi 5. He stays away from the battle. Because… because he knows well that in Barcelona he ended his story in Valentino’s team. In the Ducati team. Bez starts well, he almost seems to be in the pre-podium area, then he fades away.

Alex Marquez 5. It is certainly the most complicated vote because Alex alternated good ideas in contrasting Espargaro's position, with others definitely marked by dangerous indecisions. Luckily he was in the back, otherwise, in the Pecco-Martin duel he could have made a mess.

Pedro Acosta 4,5. When he stings Bastianini and fights with Binder he shows all his strength and potential as a top-class pilot. Then something happens to him. He takes the blow (Binder's braking) and gets lost in the void. Little, too little, for a talent with his qualities.

Maverick Vinales 4. While Aleix Espargaro shows how Aprilia is able to stay close and beat (see Alex Marquez's Desmo), Mav gets lost down there, without being seen, without sending signals to anyone. What a shame. A GP to forget and a season to forget.
